SEED BUSINESS MODEL TRAINING

The training was conducted by ISSD Myanmar Programme on 17th to 19th, August 2020 at Agricultural Extension Rural Development Training Center, AERDTC, YEZIN. The main objective of the training is to improve the capacity and get to know about the seed business model for the key persons of seed farms who are managing in the seed farms. 5 seed farms managers under the Department of Agricultural Research and 39 seed farms managers under the Department of Agricultural as total 44 farm managers were attended.

In the occasion, U Thet Zin Maung; Deputy Director General of DOA and U Thant Lwin Oo; Deputy Director General were delivered the opening speech. The training was hold three-day course that basically focuses on business model which is applying widely nowadays all over the world.

Initially, the training was led by Dr. Abishkar Subedi (Senior Advisor), and Dr. John MacRobert (trainer) has been to Myanmar more than seven times, and now U Min Oo from WHH is teaching again. Firstly, the trainer was initiative by teaching the concept of motivation which is attitude level. And the next, the trainer was presented according to the following lesson topics;

In addition, the trainer explained about the basics of the marketing mix “4 Ps” related to the market.

Then, Deputy Director of the Seed Division Daw Mar Mar Lwin gave a lecture for the responsibilities and accountabilities to be followed strictly in the seed production process and producers. On the last day, Dr. Pa Pa Win (Deputy Director of DAR) explained about PVP Law and Daw San Kyi (Deputy Director of Seed Division) also explained about Seed Law. The training was very productive for seed farm managers and successfully finished.
